Tuberculosis: symptoms and who is at risk of being infected!

The World Health Organization estimates there are 9 million people who suffered from Tuberculosis (TB) every year, and recorded about 1.5 to 3 million people die of TB each year. And 95 percent of TB deaths occur in developing countries. Here are some of the symptoms of Tuberculosis:

1. A cough that lasts 3 weeks or longer
2. Coughing blood
3. Chest pain, or pain when breathing or coughing
4. Weight loss unexplained
5. Fatigue
6. The fever
7. Night sweats
8. Hot cold
9. Loss of appetite

Tuberculosis can also affect other parts of your body, including the kidneys, the spine or brain. When TB occurs outside of the lungs, the symptoms will vary according to the infected organ. For example, the TUBERCULOSIS that occurs in the spine can give you a sense of pain that is sustainable, and TUBERCULOSIS in kidney can cause blood in the urine.

When to see a doctor?

Meet the doctor immediately if you experience a fever, weight loss, unexplained night sweats or cough that never healed.

People who are at risk are exposed to TB, including:

People with HIV/AIDS
-Needle drug users
-They are in contact with an infected person
-Health workers who care for people with a high risk of TB
